The only act for which you are physically required to be present is the SRE permit application and the actual closing, but even then our real estate attorney can serve as a Power of Attorney (POA) and close for you if returning for the closing proves problematic for you—it simply requires a POA document which will require an Apostille from your Secretary of State, a process that can be managed by online companies.
One important tip: it’s always better, cheaper, and easier (no Apostille is required) to create the POA while you are physically present in San Miguel, it’s like a $400 USD insurance policy, cheaper than return airfare!
