Speaking of oenophiles, we’re wine lovers and we hear San Miguel is Mexico’s 2 nd largest wine district…is that really true? Are there wineries in San Miguel de Allende?
Yes, only the Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California exceeds our local wine district, we now have 15 wineries just outside of San Miguel. Many are worth visiting, both to tour the winery and to sample the wines. Speaking from personal experience, the food-paired wine tasting at Cuna de Tierra is a gourmet four-course meal not to be missed! Other good tastings can be had at La Santisima Trinidad, Viñedo los Arcángeles, Vinicola Tres Raices, Viñedo San Miguel and about a dozen others.
